Inspections by Scaffolding Contractors in South East London

An essential part of scaffolding services is the inspection process in which our scaffolding contractors ensure that South East London sites are 100% safe. We understand the value of maintaining a convenient and secure environment for builders, roofers, fitters, cleaners and restorers alike, which is why we are one of the most reliable scaffolding companies in the South East London area. Our scaffolding erectors are fully-trained and experienced to assemble and inspect the conditions of scaffolding equipment for domestic and commercial projects.

Qualified Scaffolding Inspectors

As experienced scaffolding contractors, we provide South East London clients with fully-trained scaffolding erectors to fulfil any domestic or commercial job. All scaffolding structures need to be inspected by an appointed person who is knowledgeable of scaffolding equipment and understands what aspects are required to meet legal safety requirements.

Our scaffolding services, which comprise of assembling, inspecting and deconstructing scaffolding, are carried out by scaffolding erectors with the following credentials:

  • Construction Industry Scaffolder's Record Scheme (CISRS)
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
  • Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)

South East London clients can rely on dedicated scaffolding companies like our own to inspect their property at regular intervals whist using our scaffolding services. To comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005, equipment should be inspected by scaffolding erectors at the following times:

  • Following the initial installation and prior to domestic or commercial use
  • At weekly intervals, not exceeding 7 days in between each inspection
  • After any extreme weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, which can affect the stability of scaffolding structures

As stipulated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines, complex scaffolding structures should be inspected by scaffolding contractors with CISRS Advanced Scaffold Inspection accreditation. Professional scaffolding companies vetted by CISRS, CSCS, CHAS and the British Safety Council (BSC) hold the relevant qualifications to construct and inspect a variety of structures, towers and platforms at different levels of complexity.

South East London clients can be assured that the designs we set up can be inspected by fully-competent scaffolding erectors, keeping their workforce in safe hands. However, it is the responsibility of the hirer to make sure the scaffolding services are fulfilled for their project, with the help or dedicated scaffolding companies.

Inspection Reports

Scaffolding companies need to produce a written report after finalising each individual inspection. This report must be accessible on-site at the South East London property until the end of the project. After scaffolding services are complete, reports must be kept on file for at least three months for auditing reasons.

Scaffolding contractors should include the following in every report:

  • General information, such as location, date, time, client details and the name of the scaffolding contractors’ appointed person to carry out the inspection
  • Full description of the South East London property, scaffolding structure and the equipment that has been checked
  • Details of scaffolding defects, such as loose couplers, torn temporary roofing sheets, broken access gates, eroded or worn transoms, etc.
  • An outline of the action that has been or needs to be undertaken to maintain the safety if the scaffolding structure
